Grit Removal System
A grit removal system is a crucial component in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), sewage treatment plants (STPs), and effluent treatment plants (ETPs). It is designed to eliminate heavy inorganic particles like sand, gravel, eggshells, coffee grounds, and metal fragments from wastewater. Removing grit early in the treatment process prevents pipe blockages, reduces equipment wear, and improves overall efficiency.
Applications of Grit Removal Systems
- Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) – Protects pumps and clarifiers from abrasion.
- Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs) – Removes industrial grit before biological treatment.
- Drinking Water Treatment Plants – Prevents sediment accumulation in treatment tanks.
- Desalination Plants – Removes sand and grit before reverse osmosis processes.
- Food & Beverage Industry – Separates sediment in food processing wastewater.
